First of all…what is a weenus? This is the slang term for the excess skin at the end of your elbow. My kids taught me this word and they showed me that you can squeeze your weenus very hard without it hurting. Go ahead…try it? It’s interesting and true.
Compare your weenus sensitivity to your toe. My entire family is known for having sensitive toes. When we stub our toe….Katie….bar the door. We scream like there is no tomorrow. Why is that? Why is the toe much more sensitive than the weenus? The answer is: The CORTICAL HOMUNCULUS.
The picture above is the cortical homunculus and it is a representation of how much of brain space is devoted to sensing from different parts of your brain. Important and interactive parts that need to check out the world and provide feedback have much larger areas devoted to them than do lesser areas of the body. The toe is large….and has a significant portion of the brain devoted to it, while the weenus has a minuscule control center.
