I saw an article on this topic and had to laugh. The world of health care and medicine is changing dramatically due to a litany of economic pressure, governmental changes, scientific discoveries, and new technologies. But here, at our office, I do not envision any major changes taking place. With the passing of Justice Scalia with his boots on at age 79, I have currently committed to working in practice until age 79 as well….which will take me to 2041. Combine that with my commitment to the old-fashioned principles of medicine I learned at Johns Hopkins and from my father, and you have 25 more years of medicine looking about the same as it does now.
Sure…there will be some technilogical changes and improvements in the science of medicine, but personalized care from a staff of professionals who know you and your health issues, will be something that we will continue to provide for a long time to come.
